Changes to the diagnostic imaging prohibited practice provisions of the Health Insurance Act
The Australian Parliament passed legislation to amend provisions in the Health Insurance Act 1973 that relate to pathology and diagnostic imaging services provided under Medicare.
The Health Insurance Amendment (Inappropriate and Prohibited Practices and Other Measures) Act 2007 was enacted on 21 June 2007. The changes took effect on 1 March 2008.
