Food Regulation Standing Committee of the Australia and New Zealand Food Regulation Ministerial Council (Ministerial Council).
Composition
Membership of FRSC comprises senior officials of Departments for which the Ministers represented on the Australia and New Zealand Food Regulation Council have portfolio responsibility, as well as the President of the Australian Local Government Association.Responsibilities
FRSC is responsible for co-ordinating policy advice to the Ministerial Council and ensuring a nationally consistent approach to the implementation and enforcement of food standards. It also advises the Ministerial Council on the initiation, review and development of FRSC activities.Strategic Plan
The Food Regulation Standing Committee has developed a Strategic Plan for the period 2006 to 2011. The Plan identifies 5 Work Priorities for 2007 which have been included in the existing Standing Committee Priority List.Progress against the Strategic Plan and the Priority List will be regularly assessed, next happening in conjunction with the March 2008 Standing Committee meeting.
